Clevedon Music Club has been presenting concerts by top class professional musicians, many with international status, for more than 60 years. Public support will ensure that this splendid performing and listening opportunity continues for another 60!
The Club’s 2018/2019 exciting season begins on Tuesday 18 September. Pianist Clare Wilding, accompanying outstandingly versatile soprano Emily Kyte, presents a programme on the theme of Woman's Life and Love with music by Schumann, Brahms, Debussy and others.. Emily's biography is stunning, with solo performances in Wigmore Hall, the Barbican and St Paul's Cathedral already to her credit. Clare is acknowledged as one of the best pianists and accompanists in the West Country so it is sure to be a superb evening.
October sees a welcome return of viola and piano Duo Karadys, followed in November by the Divertimento Trio, an international group of piano, violin and cello performing Beethoven’s Archduke Trio. In December flute and guitar duo, Clarissa Payne and Adam Khan make a return visit.
The New Year begins with Steven Hollas’ trio of piano, horn and flute, followed by an evening of piano duets performed by Jonathan Price and Mark Lee, and then in March a programme by outstanding students from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. The season will end with a recital by baritone, Marcus Evans after the April AGM.
Admission to individual events costs £9 but a subscription to attend all eight costs only £52, (just £6.50 per concert) or £28 for the first or second half of the season.
Concerts take place generally on the third Tuesday of each month at 7.30 pm in the Teignmouth Room at the Clevedon Community Centre, Princes Road BS21 7SZ.
