For over 25 years, the Clevedon Music Club has been staging top class Tuesday evening concerts of wide-ranging classical music performed by professionals in the elegant Teignmouth Room of the Clevedon Community Centre. Chaired by Judith James, the Club is proud of its unique contribution to the area's cultural life and tries to minimise its subscriptions and admission charges. Guest performers are charmed by the warmth of the welcome that they receive in Clevedon and are always happy to make return visits.
The Autumn series begins on 20 September 2016 when the Bochmann Trio (violin, viola and piano) will play music by Beethoven, Schubert and Holst. Their leader, Michael Bochmann formerly partnered Yehudi Menuhin in concerts around the world. Pianist Clare Wilding returns on 18 October with violinist Charis Jenson and baritone Richard Morrison, followed on 15 November by international piano recitalist Lauretta Bloomer, and the Autumn series concludes on 13 December with an evening of music for flute and harp performed by the Topaz Duo, Julia Hammersley and Michelle Krawiec. Concerts next year feature soprano Charlotte Newstead on 17 January , Duo Karadys (piano and viola) Alan MacLean and Carol Hubel-Allen on 21 February, the Dorian String Quartet on 21 March, and an 18 April programme from Jennie Willy (flute), Julia Elton (oboe) and Maretha Broadbent (piano).
To ensure the Club's viability we warmly welcome subscriptions to attend all eight concerts (September - April) for just £48, or half the season (January - April) for £26.50. Admission to individual concerts will be £8 on the door. Everyone is very welcome, and a few more members and visitors would ensure the future of this great organisation and allow the Club to continue to engage high calibre musicians.
